Research: 

Liver metastasis in cancer, independently of the cancer type, is known to reduce the effectiveness of immunotherapy. My research is exploring the role of the gut microbiome in mediating this effect. We are using mouse models of liver metastatic colorectal cancer to investigate the impact of gut microbiome depletion on immunotherapy efficacy. If successful, we may be able to identify culprit microbes that can leveraged to improve the effect of immunotherapy in patients with liver metastasis.
